Technical Specifications
Our DTH rods are available in a wide range of specifications to meet diverse drilling needs. Lengths range from 1 meter to 9 meters, while sizes vary from 50mm to 152mm. The rods are manufactured using high-quality materials such as ISMT, Jindal Gold, and ONGC-grade pipes. ISMT rods undergo induction hardening to achieve 35–40 HRC hardness, improving wear resistance. Each rod is fitted with friction welded adaptors, ensuring strong connections and reliable performance under heavy drilling conditions.
Manufacturing Process
The manufacturing of DTH rods at KLR SR Engineering follows a strict and quality-focused process. It begins with cutting pipes to the required length, followed by friction welding of adaptors on both ends. The joints are then stress relieved at high temperatures to eliminate internal defects. ISMT pipes undergo induction hardening to improve hardness and durability, followed by oil tempering. Additional reinforcement welding is done, and any bending is corrected through straightening. Final inspection ensures quality and performance.
